Prime importance is given to the research and further development of safety products in all companies within the Jané Group. It goes without saying that all Concord's child car seats are thoroughly tested during their development at the company's in-house crash test facility.
The facility that was set up in 2003 at the Jané Group's headquarters in Barcelona is one of the most modern and technically advanced in Europe. Engineers and designers are able to research and further enhance the complex safety products precisely, sustainably and without any time pressure.
The facility is also open to classes of schoolchildren. The aim of this event that has been held for many years is to heighten awareness of the necessity and correct application of child car seats, particularly for young passengers.
A 20-metre track is required to accelerate the test sleds, as the movable substructure for the child car seat to be tested is called, to the necessary speeds. Accelerations can be simulated on this stretch that are comparable to those of a Formula 1 racing car.
One further distinguishing factor are the passengers of the test child car seats: high-performance dummies, fitted with large quantities of sensors simulate the potential passengers aged between 0 and 12 years. The height and weight naturally have a decisive role to play, together with biomechanical features, such as movement of the children.
The selection of the dummies and implementation of the tests generally by far exceed the specifications of the approval bodies and standards, both in quality and quantity. This practice has proven itself for the developers and for satisfied customers of the Concord brand, and is reflected in the brand's healthy success that is growing all the time.
